About Us
Currently...
Cunderdin CRC is located in the main retail street of Cunderdin 156 kms east of Perth with disabled access and lots of free parking.
We are just one of over 100 CRCs situated throughout Western Australia in smaller or more remote towns, and like all CRCs we are a very happy team of local residents, willing to assist our customers.
We service the Shire of Cunderdin (pop.1457) which includes the towns of cunderdin (pop.1138) and Meckering (pop.319) and the surrounding farms. Tourists, travellers and visitors use our internet cafe, toilets and tourism brochures.
For an up-to-date list of our resources please see "Our Services". For example, we have a large function room very suitable for meetings, workshops, birthday parties etc, we house the public library, and we provide a full range of secretarial services.
Historically...
Cunderdin CRC was incorporated in 1999 and commenced trading in January 2000 in the old bakery building at 59 Main Street Cunderdin.
In July 2002 we purchased and moved into the 1970s style Westpac bank building, next door at 57 Main Street. Around the same time a function room was built at the rear of the main building allowing us to hold training courses and private events.
In 2010 with funding from Royalties for Regions, we upgraded our premises and equipment. Signage, painting, garden plantings and an enormous cleanup gave our CRC exterior a much needed face lift. We now sparkle!
In November 2011 we commenced upgrading the interior of our main room, re-arranging equipment and installing new furniture to create a bright, airy and welcoming shop.
In May 2012 our storm-damaged rear asbestos fence was replaced with a sleek colourbond one.
Our Mission...
Cunderdin CRC is an essential organisation, providing basic services that would otherwise require a 60km drive to the nearest large town, or worse 156km to Perth.
Our mission is to maintain professional provision of these services, and, most importantly, increase the human capacity of our community - socially, culturally and economically. We are in the process of doing this with delivery of a wide range of educational and personal interest workshops, and by actively engaging with local and regional individuals and groups to achieve it.
Cunderdin CRC is a non-profit incorporated association. We rely on and appreciate local volunteers, clubs and businesses who help us provide our services to our community.
